AIT was begun by six art curators and organisers in 2002 in Tokyo to create a platform to think about, learn and discuss art. Cooperating with individuals, companies, foundations, and public organizations, we strive to share the values of art through our programs. Our main programs range from an educational program on art MAD(Making Art Different), an Artist in Residence program, to exhibitions, artist talks and more.
What is Tokyo Artpoint Project?
This program is part of the Tokyo Artpoint Project, which began in 2009, as part of the ”TOKYO CULTURE CREATION PROJECT ” run by the city of Tokyo and the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture. The Tokyo Artpoint Project is designed to connect unique people, towns, and activities in Tokyo, and to provide people with opportunities to be involved in their community voluntarily, so that they can revitalize their community and towns as “their own”, creating and spreading new culture from Tokyo.
