Puddles and Hydroponics

Hiroshi Fuji (Artist)

When considering natural features, the existence of water is often overlooked. Water, not as the substance you find inside a PET bottle, instead the fluid existence of people’s emotions. Originally, the land in and around Tokyo was basically a low, damp area. People with various interests and concerns within, gathered together by the water, creating areas of stagnation, smells arose and activity was self-generated. The name of the seed from which the flower grows, remains, yet water is anonymous. Irresponsible and ever-changing. In this presentation I will talk about the fluidity of Tokyo, from the viewpoint of water.
