Architect Ryuji Nakamura was born in Nagano in 1972. He completed the Master Course of Architecture, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. After working at Jun Aoki & Associates, he founded Ryuji Nakamura & Associates in 2004. His main works include atmosphere (stage art work for ‘Opera Le Grand Macabre’ at New National Theatre, Tokyo), cornfield (‘Where is Architecture? Seven installations by Japanese Architects’ at The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo), blank room (space design of ‘DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2010′), pond (hotel ‘LLOVE’), beam (space design of ‘Feel and Think : A New Era of Tokyo Fashion’ at Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery). He won prizes such as Kumamoto Station West Gate Square Design Competition Award by Kumamoto Art Police Second Prize, Good Design Award, JDC Design Award Grand Award, and THE GREAT INDOORS AWARD in Netherland.
